Green Tea Exported to 17 Countries from Iran
  Over 2,700 tons of green tea are produced in Iran, of which 2,000 tons are consumed domestically and the rest is exported.
Yousef Ebrahim, a prominent green tea producer, made the remarks on the sidelines of the 20th international AgroFood expo, held during May 28-31 in Tehran.
Ebrahimi, who considers himself the country’s first green tea producer, said Iran exports green tea to 17 countries, including Germany, UAE, Canada, Russia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.
Referring to 120 health benefits of the herb, he said green tea drinkers may have a lower risk of developing heart diseases and certain types of cancer.
Ebrahimi stated that there is a kind of green tea suitable for losing weight, provided it is used half an hour before a meal for a month.
Many types of tea come from the same plant. The different types of tea such as Black tea and Green tea are the result of differences in the tea manufacturing process, and not due to the types of tea plants.
One of the key steps in the tea manufacturing process, which determines the type of tea, is the degree of fermentation the tea leaves are allowed to undergo.
The term fermentation when applied to tea is something of a misnomer, as the term actually refers to how much a tea is allowed to undergo enzymatic oxidation by allowing the freshly picked tea leaves to dry.   Source:http://www.iran-daily.com/1392/3/13/MainPaper/4523/Page/5/Index.htm
